Barbados is home to some of the best musicians and musical genres in the world! On your visit to Barbados you will find that much of the nightlife revolves around music festivals (such as Crop Over Carnival, Oistins Fish Festival, Holetown Festival to name a few) and versatile performances by local bands.

Calypso and Soca (one of the most popular forms of music in Barbados)
1.		"1 on 1" by Rupee Rupee’s first success came as a teenager, when he won a popular Barbados talent competition. His performance stole the show and fueled his desire to be an artist. The public’s response to Rupee was tremendous, and in 1997 he was invited to join the top Barbadian band, Coalishun.

3.		"'Til Now" by Gabby Gabby is in the midst of celebrating his 30th year as a calypsonian. And what a glorious three decades it has been. Not only has he been a consistent and prolific creator of hit calypsos, but he commanded his piece of calypso history with the title of the youngest calypsonian to win the Calypso Monarch title in Barbados .

Jazz
		Java by Arturo Tappin Constantly touring and recording Arturo has performed at every Jazz and Reggae festival in the Caribbean! In 1999 and 2000 he toured South Africa with Roberta Flack and was musical director and keyboardist for Eddy Grant. Almost no continent has gone untouched by this Barbadian including sell out performances in Japan and Europe.
