Barbados is home to some of the best musicians and musical
genres in the world! On your visit to Barbados you will find
that much of the nightlife revolves around music festivals
(such as Crop Over Carnival, Oistins Fish Festival, Holetown
Festival to name a few) and versatile performances by local
bands.

Rupees first success came as a teenager, when he
won a popular Barbados talent competition. His performance
stole the show and fueled his desire to be an artist.
The publics response to Rupee was tremendous, and
in 1997 he was invited to join the top Barbadian band,
Coalishun. |

a calypsonian. And what a glorious three decades it has
been. Not only has he been a consistent and prolific creator
of hit calypsos, but he commanded his piece of calypso
history with the title of the youngest calypsonian to
win the Calypso Monarch title in Barbados . |
